Its been planned for a while but its finally about to happen as Australia’s most powerful sedans head to the North West of Western Australia for two nights of action packed racing this weekend. The double header sees up to fourteen thundering Late Models head to Port Hedland this Friday the 8th, then head on down the road to Newman for another night of competition at the tough Newman circuit on Saturday May 9. Leading the pack will be multiple Australian and Western Australian champion Brad Blake. Blake has travelled this country extensively over the years and knows how to ‘hit the road’ and adapt quickly to tracks he wouldn’t be familiar with. With father Allan by his side, you know that when they get to the track they mean business and on form this year he could be the one the others will be chasing on this northwest trek. |

Victory in the A Main at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (NSW) Saturday April 18 has capped a great season for the SKM Motorsport Dirt Late Model Team. “It was great to break through for our first A Main victory at Parramatta” said Team Owner / Driver Neil Wallace. “The SKM Motorsport team has worked really hard to find a setup that works at Parramatta. We’ve been close in the past, but this time it all came together. The track was heavy, very similar to our last start there, so we were better prepared for the hooky conditions. I maintained a really consistent line, and that combined with the setup we ran saw us in front when the chequered flag fell. I tell you, it felt really good to be on top of the podium, especially when you’ve beaten a quality field to get there” Wallace said. The Parramatta victory also secured 3rd place in the East Coast Late Model Series for Wallace. |

The Daracon Croft Racing Dirt Late Model team was forced to curtail its 2008/09 campaign early after suffering engine failure at Tamworth City Speedway in the first round of competition for the NSW Late Model Championship. “It was a disappointing end to the season” said Team Principal / Driver Ken Croft from his Gunnedah NSW base. “We had set ourselves for a good crack at the NSW title, and with it being a big two night affair at Tamworth and Gunnedah we were feeling reasonably confident. The car had been fast at meetings leading up to the title, and I was happy in my own ability to get the job done, but as often happens in speedway ‘fate’ had other ideas”. |

Everyone's favourite viking overcome adversary to conquer the field at the last meeting of the phenomenal 2008-2009 season at Parramatta City Raceway last night. On an extremely slippery track, Neil Wallace in the SKM Marine, Viking Global Industries entry took control of probably the fastest field this year to take the final feature of the season. Behind Wallace - his first podium at Parramatta this season - was the fastest and most consistent driver of the season, Scott McPherson in the Canberra Better Trailers entry - who has finished on the podium at every meet this season - and likeable Lyle Dicker, in the Dicker Glass entry, who also made his first Parramatta podium this year.
