It may not be their first visit to the Perth Motorplex, but New South Wales racers Nathan Disney and Darryl Grimson are as keen as mustard to be returning to race in this weekends Late Model Nationals. It’s a long haul for both these drivers to make it over to Western Australia for this event, but both love the idea of competing here. “It’s a good track to race at, and I cant wait to race against the likes of Doug Drown and Jeep Van Wormer, and the rest of the West Aussies” said the quietly spoken Grimson this week. |

With considerable support from Newcastle business, Disney Racing has prepared its race winning Rocket for the assault on the 8th QFS National Dirt Racing Late Model Australian Championship. With gun driver Nat Disney keen to put some major awards in his 08-09 season trophy cupboard, the Disney Racing team has headed to Perth along with the Motofoto Hillermans team car of Barry Kelleher. Joining Disney and Kelleher over in Perth will be fellow Sydney stars Darryl Grimson and Dean Smith. Having won the inaugural Casio G-Shock Gold Cup Dean Smith is confident of a strong showing at the Kwinana Complex. Nat Disney knows the challenge will not only come from his fellow East Coast pilots but also from the WA stalwarts and the visiting American Late Model specialists Doug Drown and Jeep van Wormer. |
