The KMC Racing Dirt Late Model team will be looking for some solid results when they compete at Fire Service Plus Nowra Speedway (NSW) Saturday December 19.
Having only returned to the track a few weeks ago, after a year away from the sport, the team is keen to do well on arguably what is its ‘home’ track.
“Nowra Speedway is the closest track to our base that the East Coast Late Model Series regularly visits so it’s a real bonus not to have to travel too far” said Team Principal and Driver Kevin Stevens.
“We have always run well at Nowra, and with the modifications we’ve made to the car while we’ve been off track, I’m really looking forward to a good showing on the racy 400 metre oval”.
The KMC Racing Dirt Late Model team returned to action at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway December 5 but a few niggling problems stopped them achieving the results they were after. ”We had a tyre go down in Heat 1, and struggled with the setup in Heat 2. After some help from fellow racer Daryl Grimson we felt more confident with the setup heading into the Main but the bad luck continued and we broke an accelerator linkage”.
“Hopefully these teething problems are now behind us. I was really impressed with the engine power, and feel that we can compete at the pointy end of the field despite running more basic equipment than most of our rivals”. ”Saturday night will be a good indication of where we currently stand in relation to our opposition, but I’m quietly confident that we can get on the podium” said Stevens.
